What Are The Camp Canada Student Requirements?
We always get a lot of questions about the student requirements for our program. In this blog we're going to address some common questions we get asked!
What is Student Status?
Student Status refers to the eligibility requirements for participating in our program. To participate in the Camp Canada program for the 2025 season, you must be eligible for student status based on the following definition:
- You are currently enrolled as a full-time student, and you will graduate in or after April 2025.
- You have intentions of becoming a full-time student within one year of finishing camp.
What Types of Students Qualify?
We understand that many young people may take a year out of education or explore different educational paths but does this mean that you still qualify as a ‘student’? If you fall into any of the following categories, you'll qualify for student status:
- Someone who is on a gap year, and will start university when they return from their Canadian adventure.
- Someone who is planning to do a Masters, or further education program when they return from camp.
- Someone who is completing a full-time apprenticeship or training program for a particular profession.
Do I Need To Be A Student To Apply?
While many of our Camp Canada participants are students, you don’t have to be a student to participate in our program. However, it's worth bearing in mind that we only work with a limited number of camps that hire non-students. So having a non-student application can be competitive as there are fewer placements.
